cocktail

Hello my fellow Bedfordians
We held our Free Curry Night last Sunday (Easter Sunday) and with the usual curry meal, refreshments cakes and sweets we also gave out Easter eggs but there's more to the story
Here's an update...
It's been a busy few weeks for us at Akaal Seva so apologies for not updating sooner.
On the 21st of March 2 of of our volunteers were invited to the Housewives Of Bedfordshire (HOBs) cocktail evening at Toast in Bedford to talk about the work Akaal Seva does and especially The Bedford Langar Project.
The ladies from HOBs donated £127 towards our work raised from donations and a discount that Toast very kindly applied to drinks. HOBs also collected Easter eggs to give out to clients on our April curry night which just happened to fall on Easter Sunday.
Some of the members of HOBs came along to help out and hand out Easter eggs and toiletries and said they will be coming back in May to help out again.
HOBs were so generous with their donations that we were left with a large amount of Easter eggs and we had a bit if a think what to do with them.
We spoke to some of HOBs and then last Tuesday one of our volunteers took some to Keech Cottage Hospice for the children they are looking after which were gratefully received.
Then today one of our volunteers visited the children's ward at Bedford Hospital and delivered 50 Easter eggs for the children, some activity packs and a box of smaller eggs for the staff.
We are very grateful to all our supporters and especially The kind ladies from HOBs for their kindness, generosity and for coming along to help our.
We look forward to seeing you all next month.
HOBs is a group of ladies who meet yo socialise and raise funds for charities etc while also having a good time.
